This project constituted a great challenge for a good cause. Sara-Louise Jokonya and Adrian Garcia, both 18 years old, decided to swim the length of Lake Geneva from Château Chillon to Geneva, about 80 km, from August 20 to 26, 2017.

Originally, this project was their “Maturité” work at André Chavanne College in Geneva. Their goal was not the sporting feat, but to raise funds to provide hundreds of tablets for students from two schools in Zimbabwe's Chikomba district so that they could access new technologies and educational information for their education.

René Kirszbaum was instrumental in the organisation and contacts for the project, and Alejandro Bonilla Garcia followed the two swimmers for 7 days by boat with professional lifeguards to ensure their safety. The project was highly publicized in the Geneva and Romande press.
