THE ROLE OF INTERNATIONAL GENEVA IN THE UN 2.0

YOUTH CONTEST APPLICABLE RULES FOR THE

GREYCELLS INTERNATIONAL GENEVA PRIZE

  1. Contest Overview: The Youth Contest for the Greycells International Geneva Prize is an integral part of the Greycells Intergenerational Dialogue 2024.
  2. Eligibility: Participants must be under the age of 32. All submissions should be accompanied by copy of a document indicating the participants’ date of birth.
  3. Who Can Participate: The contest is open to individuals as well as teams of up to a maximum of five persons.
  4. Submissions: Participants may submit one or more items in one or both of the following categories:
  5. Multimedia:  A video interview in English, French, or Spanish of an expert or a person resident in Geneva or abroad discussing The Role of International Geneva in the UN 2.0. The video shall not be longer than five minutes.
  6. Written texts: An article in English, French, or Spanish on The Role of International Geneva in the UN 2.0. The text shall not exceed a maximum of two A4 pages (1.5, Times New Roman 11).
  7. Judging Criteria: The Jury will evaluate all submissions based on: a) Relevance to the theme of the Dialogue and b) Quality in terms of communication effectiveness, clarity of message, and dissemination potential.
  8. Jury Composition: The Jury will be chaired by the Honorary President of Greycells, Mr. Michael Möller, and consist of two members from Greycells, the Director of the Club Suisse de la Presse, a representative of the Geneva Diplomatic Club and one student or young professional (i.e., under 32 years of age) provided he or she is not a member of the students’ associations partnering with Greycells in the Dialogue. External advice may be sought from other Partners involved in the Dialogue. The decisions of the Jury shall be taken by the majority of votes cast. Each member of the Jury shall have one vote. If, at the end of the process, two submissions get the same number of votes, the Chair will be casting a final vote.
  9. Announcement of Winners: The name of the Winners will be announced during the Dialogue event of April 25, 2024.
  10. Prizes: Winners from each category will receive a monetary award of 1,000 Swiss Francs each, and a Certificate of Achievement from the Jury. All submissions will receive a Certificate of Participation.
  11. Publication and Dissemination: Upon submission, all videos and written texts will be published on the Dialogue’s website. They will also be shared across the social media platforms of all the Partners of the Dialogue.
  12. Submission Deadline: Entries shall be submitted by Monday, March 25, 2024, at 00.00 AM Geneva time, to greycells08@gmail.com,  with copy to manuela.tortora2009@gmail.com.
  13. Use of Submitted Material: By participating in the present contest, contestants authorize Greycells to utilize any submitted material (videos and written texts) free-of-charge, in the context of its communications, promotional activities, and/or for related purposes. The same shall apply to all Partners of the Dialogue.
