INTERGENERATIONAL DIALOGUE 2021. PEOPLE, PLANET, PROSPERITY: Can social mobilisation shape the agenda at the local, national, and global levels?
This Intergenerational Dialogue aims at discussing the role of social mobilisation, in developed and developing countries, regarding : (i) the identification and understanding of three current issues (inequalities, gender discriminations, and climate change), and (ii) the pressure on decision-makers at the local or national level, and at the global level, particularly on the UN system. The Intergenerational Dialogue will address questions such as: To what extent mobilising citizens and residents have a national and global impact on policies and legislations? What is their impact on UN multilateral processes with the view to changing international rules and agreements on these issues? And vice-versa: to what extent do UN processes and research have an impact on public opinion movements and civil society on these issues? What are the changes stemming from the pandemic?
